Huynh: 'The story without a happy end'

I like to thank everybody who has tried to help me in my 90 day stay in Europe.

I do it now because in one week I have to go back to Vietnam and there I will not be able to play badminton anymore.

It is hard to explain but if you do something different than what the leaders in my country want you have a problem.

My 90 days in Europe have been a lifetime experience. I will tell my children and grand children about it and that makes me very happy. It also make me sad to think about that I will NEVER see most of the nice people that I have met ever again.

There are a couple of people I would like to thank specially. Peter from Carlton, it was so nice to meet you and I like it that you have believed in me from day 1. Carlton is not big in Asia but I will do everything I can to make it more known, because there are good people behind it. Thank you a lot.

The people of Oro I like to thank also. You made it possible for me to get a visa and always tried to talk with me, smiled at me when I drove by on my bike in full winter clothes in september ;-). The climate is cold but the people are so warm.

Leon Ham, you have also gotten a place in my heart. My training mate, friendly always and keeping up with my swinging modes. I would like to welcome you in my home one day. And most of all I would like to thank Ron. Coach, friend and big supporter for me in everyway possible. You say I will come again next year, but I don't know if that will happen... I want to, but my country will maybe not let me.

I like to say sorry to the people I have disappointed. To forgive me and give me the time to make it up to you. I will leave with a smile on my face and a tear in my eyes.

Thank you all

Hey huynh

Firts of all you didn't dissapoint anyone. It is very good what you have done in europe. Nobody will blame you for not being able te play badminton. I am the little brother of leon and i only heard good storys of you, that you are a great player and a great person. Never stop believing that you can play badminton for the rest of your life.

Hey Huynh,

I do not know you personally but I have heard and read a lot about you from friends in badminton and on badminton websites. I am very touched by your story and I really hope that your story will have a happy ending despite the way you feel currently. It might be a good idea to mobilise people on Facebook all over the world in order to get support for your situation, if so I suggest that Ron talks to Christ the owner of this website for setting up a good photo and story for on Facebook in order to get thousands of 'likes' which would send out a strong message to the 'powers that be' in your country.

It is very
nice to see all this reactions of people I have learn to know, I wanted to play
the International tournaments in Belgium, Holland and Denmark but my Federation in Vietnam did not want me
to play. It is said when you are here and can’t play, I’m great full to my club
Holbaek they did everything so I could play competition in second highest level
in Denmark and they want me to come back again J

When I can’t
play Badminton in Vietnam it will be very difficult to keep a good level, but
Ron have told me he would come to give training again 4 to 6 weeks and he maybe
will take some players with him to Vietnam. I just wish I have meet him many
years ago then I would have been a different player now.

I’m also
happy with the reaction of Papa Stef it is good to know that the problems did
not have any effect on our relationship and good memories.

Please don’t
forget me when I’m back because the Leaders in my country care about PR and
when I have friends in Europe they maybe give me the change again to play, so
stay with me please.

Hi Huynh, it is really sad for you that you have to leave Europe. However, such a strong woman as you will survive all the troubles in the end. I hope in Vietnam you will be able to do the things you like. We have seen several times, during our visits to Vietnam, how helpfull you are. I hope we will meet again in the future. I am sure. Good luck. Papa Stef.

Dear huynh,

I lived with you for a longer time. I have seen you changing also. I saw you becoming more and more a free person. I know it is very very difficult to go back to Vietnam where there is no freedom for you. It is special for me what you said about me, that i have a place in your hart. I have big respect for you, the way you think and the way you deal with te things. I would love to come to your house one day to meat your family and to see the way you live.

Hey Huynh,

I've read your story, and I want to say this makes me really sad. The day you came in Oro I met you and you told us your story. You came to Europe to become a better badminton player even tough Vietnam would not accept that. I just want to tell you, you inspired me, and I'm sure you inspired more. You gave everything to be here and enjoy the sport. It would be very sad if you have to quit badminton. In my eyes, you're career has just began. I think you're the center of inspiration for a lot of people in Vietnam, and that's what makes the leaders afread. They can't control you and you've proven that. I think the world should be proud of people like you. I think if the leaders could not stop you from going to Europe, than they also can not make you stop badminton. I think there will be a solution soon, but I wish you all the good luck. And I hope we will meet again in better times.

Your friend,
Nima

Huynh,

I hear about you and had the pleasure to meet you for the first time last monday. And that day I also hear about the way your country works and I understand why you write that it is a story without a happy end. But I also know that there is always a way and that you have a lot of new friends in Europe who will love to help you.

I wish you all the best and hope to meet you once again in Europe.

Greetings,

Ronald
